Global Warming Opinion and Facts

Have you ever considered the global warming thing? Well, it is actually more than just a “thing” because it is a grave matter to scientists who study the effects of global warming on our environment. The global warming argument has entered the political arena with the signing of the Kyoto Treaty but the average person needs the facts that are not known readily. Keep reading and find out some information you may not have known.

The global warming issue first arose when scientists began noticing a trend in weather patterns. They noticed that the temperatures of the oceans and the near-air surface had risen over the last century. This spawned the beginnings of the global warming argument and debates on the exact causes. Questions arose on whether it was a repeat occurrence of something that had happened in our distant past or if it was caused by mankind’s treatment of the environment.

There are some facts regarding the global warming issue. The first is that there has been weather patterns discovered that can be directly connected to rising temperatures. It is unknown if these are anomalies or in fact are tied to a specific pattern caused by the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is thought to be a direct contributor with the global warming study.

Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, rise into the atmosphere creating a blanket effect. The blanket acts as an insulator trapping solar radiation rather than letting it escape back through the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is a byproduct of humans and animals. An additional byproduct of animals, including humans, is methane gas which is another problematic issue for the global warming study.

Anyone that has ever taken a debate class can testify that facts can be manipulated or twisted to fit a certain situation. A clear argument can be given on each side of the global warming debate. There are facts agreed upon by both sides but those are few and far between. Studies that were once considered concrete are now being proven wrong due to misinterpretation of the facts.

There is no guaranteed information on the global warming at this time. Perhaps there will be concrete scientific studies in the near future that can help answer whether or not our environment is suffering due to human negligence. Until that time you have to go on opinion and make up your own mind whether or not your actions help or hurt the Earth. It is something everyone must consider and have knowledge on.

    Good article.

The political agenda was set before the “Politically appointed scientists” got down to research.

What is really happening? We know for sure the earth continues to change. Sometimes slowly sometimes rapidly.

Non political scientific research would be great but the studies will be done with government money and the new administration definitely has an agenda.

When the results of the study are determined in advance the study will only look to prove the predetermined outcome.
